The Floor Lords are a special group of hardwood floor refinishers that have reached several goals of their careers. This includes the mastery of sanding; staining wood in any colors; and years of experience. Think of the Floors Lords as the Navy Seals of the hardwood flooring industry. Working with wood has many challenges because the trees in which the hardwood material comes from has a plethora of different attributes from hardness to grain patterns. Add other characteristics as examples:
Keep in mind that wood flooring species come in various natural colors of beauty and from every part of the globe. So as an example, we see beauty in the samples, but we don’t neccessarily ask where the wood material comes from. Many woods are imported (non indigenous) or exotic as a common explanation term. For the most part common woods we encounter on a regular basis and throughout America are Oak; both red and white species; Maple; Hickery (may be called Pecan); Cherry; Walnut; and in the last 40 years and less we’ve commonly imported Brazilian Cherry; Teak; Cumaru (Brazilian Teak) Ipe (Brazilian Walnut. And there are others of course. The bottom line is that to achieve the most beauty a natural resource like wood has to offer, we must be extremely experienced and attentive to achieve the desired goal.
The above three photos show the refinishing of Cumaru (Brazilian Teak) and the below photos show the refinishing of a 120 year old Apricot Barron of Silicon Valley’s home purchased for restoration and moved to a new location. We were hired to handle the complete hardwood flooring refinishing throughout the house. On the upper level bedrooms and hallwall it was evident squaters lived there and clearly vandalized and left graffiti which wasn’t an issue for me and my team.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit us during normal business hours with a scheduled appointment for hardwood floors or refinishing wood floors.
